Creating a Subtask(s)

 

Some tasks may be so large that they are best managed by breaking them down into smaller steps or Subtasks. BubblesPlanner allows the user to create Subtasks with ease.

To create a Subtask, follow these steps:

  1. Open task Right Panel
  2. Click the Subtasks tab
  3. Type subtask name in Create a new subtask field
  4. Hit Enter

Repeat as needed.

Add/edit details in Subtask(s)

You can drag-and-drop subtasks to change their order:

To edit or add attachments and web links to Subtask, follow these steps:

From the Task View (or inside the posts view), click inside a task as shown below to open the Right Panel.

  • Click the Subtasks tab
  • Click the subtask or click on Edit icon

Tip: Don’t click the checkbox, that marks the Subtask as Complete.

In the subtask you can:

    1. Edit the Title.
    2. Upload files: 
      • Click + Add files, browse to their location
      • Or drag files onto the box in the center of the dialog
    3. Add web links:
      • Click + Add links link.
      • Paste the URL
      • Add a caption.
      • Hit ENTER
    1. When finished, click OK.

Create a task out of a Subtask

 

At some point, a Subtask may grow in magnitude that it warrants becoming a task on its own.

To convert a Subtask into a task, follow these steps:

  1. From the Task View (or inside the posts view), click inside a task as shown below to open the Right Panel.
  1. Click Subtasks tab
  2. Click the subtask
  3. Click on Convert to task blue button

You will be taken to the task full view screen. You can now work with the converted Subtask in the same manner as any other task. 

Note: To break a reference to other tasks, Click the + next to the text “Reference to other tasks,” uncheck the tasks you want to remove from the referenced list.

Note: To return to the main work area view, click on the Back button or BubblesPlanner logo in the upper right.

Complete or delete Subtasks

 

From the Task View (or inside the posts view), click inside a task as shown below to open the Right Panel.

  1. Click the Subtasks tab
  2. Check the box next to the Subtask(s) to complete it
  3. Completed tasks disappear from the list
  4. To view the list of completed tasks, click the Show completed link at the bottom.

Un-complete Subtasks

Click the Show Completed link will show the completed subtask. To restore completed subtask do the following:

    1. Click on Un-complete icon for subtask
    2. Click the Show Active link to return to the active Subtask view.
